This blog was created in response to several successful programs given at the ILA Annual Conference and Reaching Forward Conference entitled “Technical Services Tips & Tricks” by Richard Stewart, Jennifer B. Young and Joy Anhalt.

The purpose is to find resources to help catalogers with everyday and occasional cataloging challenges.

We will also be presenting our program again at the ILA Annual Conference in Peoria, IL on October 6-9, 2009.

Jennifer B. Young is a Serials Cataloger at Northwestern University.  She currently serves on the Continuing Resources Cataloging Committee of the ALA ALCTS Continuing Resources Section.  She has also contributed articles to Revolting Librarians Redux and Radical Cataloging.  She can be reached at j-young2 at or followed on Twitter, Flickr and FriendFeed.

Joy Anhalt is the Technical Services Manager at the Tinley Park Public Library, Tinley Park, Illinois. She participates in the ILA Resources & Technical Services Forum (RTSF), LACONI Technical Services Section and the Metropolitan Library Systems’ MARC Advisory Committee. She can be reached at

Richard A. Stewart is Senior Cataloger at the Indian Trails Public Library Disctrict and an instructor in the Graduate School (formerly the Graduate School, USDA).
